Akon, whose real name is Aliaune Akon Thiam, is a Senegalese. His father was famous percussionist and jazz musician Mor Thiam who specialized on playing Djembe, and authentic African drum. His band and he came to the US from Africa to perform in different clubs. So who is Akon? To understand it, it would be quite obvious to learn about his roots, his origin. His father who often visited the States became familiar with the country and its legislation. That’s why he made up his mind to do his best to make his children voting citizens of the US.
